Ammata Boutique Villa

I felt spoiled by the attentive staff who arranged my river cruise and offered cold towels at breakfast. My twin room was spacious, with a desk that made it easy to catch up on work. The garden seating area with shaded umbrellas was perfect for afternoon relaxation. Only complaint: the mattress felt slightly worn and creaked when I turned over. A mattress upgrade would enhance sleep quality even more. Despite that, I’d return in a heartbeat for the warm hospitality, cleanliness, and unbeatable location near Luang Prabang’s best temples.

nder the shade of mahogany trees, the villa’s courtyard was my personal sanctuary. Wooden benches and tables invited me to journal each afternoon. My single room’s balcony looked out to potted orchids and hummingbirds. Staff always checked in politely to ensure I lacked nothing. Even with the bustling city just blocks away, nights here were whisper-quiet, making sleep effortless. A hidden gem I’ll recommend to every friend heading to Laos.

- Location was great. It is within walking distance to the busier areas of Luang Prabang, but being a bit outside of that area resulted in a really quiet and serene stay. Monks accept alms right in front of the villa without any crowds. There are a few temples within a few blocks of the villa. - Room was very clean. Housekeeping came in daily. Water is provided in the room and more can be obtained from a water cooler in the lobby. AC was great. - Breakfast was good. It's a buffet breakfast served at a restaurant on the river about a block from the hotel. It was a nice opportunity to visit a restaurant on the river. - Staff was good overall. Most of them spoke enough English to get by and someone was at the front desk 24 hours. The man at the front desk in the morning was very helpful with helping others give alms to the monks and walked us directly to the breakfast restaurant. They were also good at responding to emails and offered transfers from the train station.

Mr.Vong who work at reception is very helpful and friendly! When we come, he bring for us city map and recommend all place to do and see in Luang Prabang, I booked one day tour to go Pak ou cave by slow boat and go to Kuang Si Waterfall. That is amazing! He can help all thing I need, sim internet, washing cloth and bike,… And in the morning, he bring me to breakfast at restaurant on the bank of Mekong river, that is live view and full energy for us all day! The location was amazing. Not only was it near the river and a quick walk to historic centre, but it was on the monks alms route. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with inquiries. Breakfast down the street on the river was really good as were staff at the restuarant.
